Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was born and raised from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam was a back-up singer with Philadelphia International Records. At 5 years old, she joined Philadelphia International Records. old, her father was offered in the role of curator at the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the mansion's historical site. In 2005 she graduated from Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in the class of the vocal music major. Sullivan started singing in children's chorus as a contralto, and then she joined the adult choir only a few years further on. Sullivan was not exposed to secular music. The singer recalls she was eleven when someone requested her to sing in a solo at church. The singer wasn't yet ready for. "Then when McDonald's offered a competition to students in big cities and I was offered the chance to sing 'Accept Whatever God Does' on Showtime in the Apollo and the audience were very supportive". She sang with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday celebration at thirteen. Sullivan aged 15 first got signed by Jive Records. At the age of 15 she signed with Jive Records. They recorded her complete album there, but it was not released. Sullivan was later removed out of the company. Her work had been in good connection to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced some of her tracks which included "Backstabbers" the track that was produced by Timbaland.
